What is this thing bolted on top of my injection pump? 93 dodge cummins

I just bought a 1993 dodge d250 with the 12v
cummins and auto transmission and on top of the
injection pump there is this thing labeled "assy
3618837 " and it has a plug that connects to it and
has wires going somewhere
