dodge grand caravan ES blower motor resistor Module problems

I don't see a question, but the resistor is relatively inexpensive and easy to change, it took me less than 15 minutes.

I am sorry for not stating "correctly" the blower motor problem. Issue: I insert the ignition key and "as soon as" I turn the key to "ON/RUN" position the blower motor starts running (at full speed), without having to press the POWER button in the "Climate Control Panel" on the dashboard. Rotating the left blower speed control knob (in manual mode) has no effect on the air flow volume, but blows at "top speed" Rotating the right "mode knob" changes the direction of the air flow and, it seems to me, the air flow volume as well. I am not sure whether the problem is with the POWER SWITCH or Blower Motor Resistor Module or BOTH or something totally different? I would appreciate any help or views (to pin point the problem) from the Expert Mechanics Regards PUAN

It sounds like a possible combination of problems to me. When my blower rheostat failed, it would only run at high speed. Turning it lower simply shut the blower off. You may be right.....it could be both the blower resistor AND a stuck power switch.

Ed_dard_49: Many thanks for your response. My Van is ES model, with Climate/Temperature Control, as such it has "solid state" resistor Module, as per the my dealer mechanic. I am planning to replace with a new module to check it out. If the problem is also due to "stuck" power switch, do you have any idea how to get it "unstuck"? Thanks, PUAN

Ed_dard_49: Many thanks again for finding time to respond. I purchased and installed the module. Works fine, no more issues. Nothing wrong with the POWER switch. See the photo for the module, bought from Dealer's MOPAR parts dept.Cost about CAD 75.00, took less than 5 minutes to install. I was advised to disconnect the battery (+ side) before changing the module.

Glad you got it done. As I recall, mine was around $30, but that was a few years ago.
