2000 ford windstar 3.8 wont start

Replaced battery and starter. Still wont start. Just
clicks. Suggestions

check the ground to the engine block . This grounds the starter. make sure all positive connections are clean and tight. could also be a weak starter relay

Stupid question on my part does the engine turn freely and does it have any secondary issues head gaskets ect?
