When i turn wheel it makes a loud humming sound. And it has steering fluid in it

darla you have a pump that has a sticky valve in it,somtimes this can be cured by doing a p/s flush on system if unsucceeful then pump replacement would be the next step,hope this helps

wow - mine has been doing the same thing except for now there's a tiny leak - only a drop or 2 overnight ... found out on another post HOW to check it correctly - thank you - gonna fix that asap but ... I'm going on vacation - about a 2 hour drive each way - ya think I need a mechanic before then? Not noticed any problems in steering ...
