2003 Ford Explorer 4.0l clicking and won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son drives my old 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0l.  He couldn't get it started.  I tried it and it would click when you turned the key once.  Now it isn't clicking at all (bad battery?)  I'm wondering what could be causing this problem.  We tried jumping it and nothing worked.  Starter, fuse, battery, something else?  I don't want to replace something and have it not be the problem.  Any ideas?

Low or bad battery, should have the battery checked, once you get it going have the charging system checked to make sure the alternator is working. Also could be bad battery connections.
