Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4x4 4.6L. I have 3 codes that came up for inspection. I bought the truck not knowing about these codes as the seller must have taken the check engine bulb out. The codes are P0420, P0430, and P0405. Can anyone help with a good place to start with repair for inspection and emissions?

You have an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) problem for sure, P 0402 and 0405 are both EGR faults. Could simply be dirty, clogged, than again could be much more to it than that. Now P0430 is a different animal, has to do with cat. Catalytic Convertor ................ See: http://www.obd-codes.com/
