Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’ve replaced the buttons and front actuator on the front
axle on my 2005 Chevy Silverado 5.3L ... the truck will not
stay in 2 wheel drive .. will go into neutral and will only
move if I put it into Auto 4 wheel drive .. but in 4 wheel
drive it shifts hard into gears and turns hard when making
turns! Thought with a new actuator and new push buttons
it would fix but no luck!

If the actuator is working properly but you are still stuck in 4WD then the transfer case may have a problem.

Try the encoder motor. $150 and it's not terribly hard to DIY. Video on youtube
