94 Ford ranger won't start

Asked by Bigh827 Sep 19, 2016 at 08:51 PM about the 1994 Ford Ranger XLT Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is a 94 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder. Some time ago replaced water
pump. Started truck up after repair, it ran ruff for about 30 seconds then
stalled. Wouldn't restart.
Have replaced vacuum device on injector rail, computer, fuel pump
relay, fuel pump, and now fuel filter.
Truck turns over but doesn't fire, and I've checked both coil blocks and
they are making sparks.

spray starting fluid in the intake at the throttle body while cranking it if it starts then u know u have spark and possible good compression. you can also remove the spark plugs and see if they are soaked with fluid after cranking and no start. this would indicate no spark
