Timing Belt Nightmare, Can't Remove AC/Steering Bracket

Asked by ShadeTreeDumbass Mar 18, 2019 at 01:55 PM about the 1994 Ford Ranger XL Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm trying to change the timing belt on my 1994 Ford Ranger. Other than the obvious, OMG engineering nightmare, I can't get the AC Compressor/Steering Pump mounting bracket off. I removed 5 bolts already from the bracket itself, and it still won't budge. Tried camera scoping it out, but found nothing. Thought it might be rusted on or something and pried on a little, but she's solid. Looked online forever, even under parts and can't find anything useful. Any ideas?

I thought of just braking the timing belt cover in half and replacing it as I can later. Sound stupid? Probably, but I don't know what else to do.
