Engine Overheating

Asked by amandawantsanewcar20... Mar 29, 2018 at 09:36 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with 104,000
miles on it. 3.1L V6. Recently my car temp started
overheating (260 degrees) and there was no hot air
coming out of the vents. I checked the coolant
reservoir tank and it was overflowing. The coolant in
that and the radiator was a burnt orange color. I
tried flushing the radiator and that made the car
work just fine for about a week. Now it’s doing the
same thing over again. Engine overheating, coolant
overflow, no heat coming out of vents. Please help!
I don’t know what to try next.

If your radiator was plugged up your heater core probably is as well. You really need a full system flush and it would not hurt to swap out a new thermostat.
