Morning starting the car

I moved to Palm Springs in May.  It has been very hot during and night and day.  However, about three weeks ago it started cooling off during the nights.  I have noticed that when I start my car in the morning it cranks over 3-4 times.  This is not typical.  This only happens during the first start in the morning.  After that the car starts like to always has.  But, each morning NOW the first crank is 3-4 times.  The dealership said the computer is quite use to the changes in temperature.  This seems like a strange answer.  Do you have any suggestions.  The battery is new and once the car has been started it starts like it always has during the rest of the day.

They are correct, the computer is trying to adjust its perimeters. Sometimes you can disconnect the battery for a little while and then re connect it which MAY make the car reestablish its perimeters. It just depends on the environmental circumstances. Your area may have high/low humidity, high/low oxygen content, which the engine has to compensate for.
