Question type: General

Ford club wagon 350 7.3 diesel van. Battery light
goes in and off.  I took it up to have alternator,
battery, starter tested and all passed.  I'm afraid to
go out of town in case it won't start.

Same issue on a 2010 F150. Solution in my case was an open circuit (broken wire) in the wiring harness on the generator load input wire. I got the correct pin out/ wire location on the C175B connector and using an ohm meter was able to confirm it was an issue. I added an external wire and made connection permanent at the wire at the C175B connector and on the wire on the main harness side after the main harness to generator connector(C110).The pin connections will be different from year to year, If your alternator, battery and fusible links are ok then the only thing left are the voltage sensing and control wires in the harness. If you have a good mechanic buddy it is a quick check.
