Nissan pickup carberator is flooding. I took
it to a mechanic and he can't figure out
why it is flooding.

Float/fuel valve incorrectly adjusted, Defective fuel valve, Defective float, Excessive fuel pressure (incorrect or defective fuel pump, clogged or missing tank vent), Cracked housing. If it's that hard to pin down pull the carb and rebuild it.
Go to another mechanic. Sounds like the needle valve are dirty or float is sticking in fuel bowl needs carburator rebuild. Sometimes float can free up by tapping LIGHTLY on side of bowl.
