After entering your five digit password (numbers) you can unlock driver's door by pressing the first button on left, second button unlocks the other three doors, third button pops the trunk. It should not be doing anything else.

I have same issue. And what buttons are you talking about, on the inside of driver’s door? My SE only has two, the lock & unlock.

After entering the entry code on the keypad located on the outside doorframe on the 2017 Ford Fusion, pressing the 3 will unlock all doors & trunk, pressing the 5 will pop the trunk. This works if you press one of those buttons within a certain amount of time (I don’t know exactly how many seconds) even after you open the driver door. I figured out that when used the keypad to unlock the car, I would grab the upper part of the doorframe to fully open the door. My fingers would sometimes inadvertently press the 5 key and the trunk lid would pop open. It took me forever figure this out and quite by accident too. One guy at the dealership was aware of the 3 key unlocking all doors but had no idea about the 5 key popping the trunk. Hope this solves your trunk popping mystery.
