What vehicles can be towed by an rv
without expensive modifications?

all depends what your tow capacity is with transmission. Research your VIN with a shop/ or dealer and investigate the tran type and go from there. GREAT question!! I usually see stories like... blew transmission in RV and cannot figure out why. But my 35' boat doesn't look so lovely anymore.
