Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Hello, I am a 20 year old young man looking for a first car. I am torn between a
2008 Honda Accord Sedan Manual Transmission with 133k miles on it for
$2500 or a 2012 Mazda 6 automatic transmission with 108k miles, needs a
wheel bearing and there is a small crack in the back bumper for $2600. Both
cars are from private sellers. Any thoughts? What would you recommend?
Thank you so much!

If taken care of the Accord will be more reliable. However, the manual transmission will make it harder to seel when y ou want to move on.

I vote for the Honda. Sounds like it was better taken care of. Buy a vehicle history report and see if it's had regular maintenance visits to a reputable service facility, no accidents, and long term ownership. As mentioned above have a shop check it out for you or have it inspected by a professional inspection company. I've used lemonsquad.com with excellent results. The inspection costs about $150 and is worth it. Hope that helps! Jim
