What year is this 5.0 engine?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just got a 92 lx 5.0. My brother swapped engines, originally
a 2.3l. He is no longer with us so i cant ask him. Im trying to
replace multiple parts...radiator, waterpump..etc but not
sure what year the engine is. Any insight would be
appreciated.

The 5.0L was used in the Foxbody Mustang and other vehicles for years. If you going to a junkyard, stick with 1990 to 1993 Mustangs. But if you are ordering parts from places like LMR, or rockauto, use 1992 as your starting point.

Look for some #'s on the block ,

Worst case is to remove the part and match it up at the auto parts store. The radiator should be for your year car, not the engine year.
