Towing with Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will I destroy my 2010 Eddie Bauer V6
Explorer by towing a Micro Minnie trailer???
It has 130,000 miles on it and has been well
maintained.  I think it has a class 2 tow
package that I would have to upgrade to a
class 3 with a weight distributor.  What do
you think???

I suggest you do a cooling system service and change the transmission fluid before towing. Not knowing what the trailer weighs I could not say if you need the weight distribution or not. I would hook it up and see if there is too much tongue weight before buying a new hitch.
