I have noticed that the New Car Dealers will list prices here that are good, but when I talk to them in person about a specific vehicle, they will refuse to honor the price you have listed here saying it has changed since posting, and then raise it by 5000.00 to 8000.00 whe i actually visit the dealer. Can they do that?

I  have noticed that the New Car Dealers will list prices here that are good, but when I talk to them in person about a specific vehicle or actually visit the dealership, they will refuse to honor the price you have listed here saying it has changed since posting, and then raise it by 5000.00 to 8000.00 (This is not just the amount of any rebate or incentive I don't qualify for, it's just a higher price.) Can they do that? Isn't there some law against that?

No law. It's a tactic to get you in the door. If you already know what you want and drove one already, I would suggest if you are looking for a new car to go directly to the dealer website and get an online price and work a deal back and forth with the internet sales staff before you even go into the dealership. That way there are no surprises.
