Overheating 06 Jeep commander limited 5.7 hemi. Fender mounted overflow tank was low I topped to full when hot level.still continued going towards the red line on temp gauge so I shut off and had towed on flatbed home. What do you suggest it was 95 degrees out with 109 heat index .

Overheating 06 Jeep commander limited with a 5.7 hemi in it . Fender overflow
tank was low or empty .I Filled to full level when hot .still continued to climb on
Temperature gauge. So I shut off and got flatbed tow home. Oil looks good no
antifreeze in it . What is wrong with my normally great running Hemi 5.7 .

There is a few things that can cause overheating bad thermostat , fans not coming on , clogged radiator , bad water pump

Thermostat, water pump, temperature sensor.

Also FAN . Is it running when motor is getting hot ?

I have a 2013 Chevy Traverse never had much problems at all with it. I drove it today and it shut off with an issue with the battery, I knew right away that it was the alternator. I had it checked out and it is the alternator, I purchased a new one. With the very cold temperature and me being on my way home from the doctor already, I plan on doing this tomorrow morning, my problem is that its parked in a parking lot. I bought this jeep Cherokee 4x4 Hemi, someone installed a lift kit on it. Was rolling in 5th gear going 60, heard aloud screeching noise and it threw us forward in the seat and slowed it immediately to about 40.I pulled off to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the truck.I looked around and couldn't see anything visibly wrong.I started it up again just fine and started rolling in 1st gear, then I tried to shift to 2nd the truck just stopped and wouldn't go into any gear.At this point the truck will start but when I let the clutch out, it dies(in neutral). Had to remove my drive shaft to be towed on towrope because it wouldn't roll smooth in neutral.
