Rough idle, and hesitation during acceleration

Asked by Birdfella86 Apr 09, 2019 at 12:22 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put a Spectera air filter system on this car. Also did a
catback exhaust system except I took the cat completely
off the car and ran to a single in duel out muffler. I am also
running 93 octane in the car because regular gas with
ethanol made it run horrible, and non ethanol is hard to find
and cost the same as premium. The car idles rough and
hesitates during acceleration until it comes to full temp.
Then it clears up and runs great. Do I need to run a hotter
spark plug, or is this another issue? This is the 5.0 engine.

On removing the cats, did you keep the O2 sensors? On your new intake, is the MAFS hooked up right? Either one of those will give you the rough idle
