02 Chevy Blazer fuel pump keeps failing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A months ago my 02 blazer began having trouble
starting.  It would crank and crank a few times
before it would start.  As the week went on,  it got
worse and eventually it wouldn't start at all. I took it
to a mechanic and they discovered that the fuel
pump went out. Which is what I assumed but I
didn't have the time to check or fix. After I got the
blazer back, it ran for a while and then the pump
went out again. I assumed they went cheap with
the fuel pump and tested the FP relay, and the
wiring harness that fed to the pump. I was getting
current to the fuel pump so I bought the high end
fuel pump and put it it. After a few days, this one
went out too. I cant figure out what is making them
go bad.

Change your fuel filter so it doesn't have to work so hard. Could be the fuel pressure regulator if it happens again after replacing filter. Make sure new pumps are being installed with the pre-pump screen too.
