Authorized Dealer
How does a private dealer become an
authorized dealer on Cargurus? Example:
private dealer / mechanic has a authorized
dealer certification on the car link? Is this
hard to achieve? Is it substantial?

I think you would have to be a legal car dealer. Look at the bottom of this page for the dealer signup.

ABC dealer sells all types of used European cars but link to particular car had noted them as an Authorized BMW Dealership.. can they be trusted more than a typical non authorized dealer?
How should I know? Do your own investigation online. Read reviews, check with the BBB etc.
