Saturn Sky

Question type: General
I'm considering buying a sky but
what was the best year? I'm
opposed to buying the first year
the vehicle with the maid because
there was several kinks. I also
understand the parts are very
difficult to purchase now that the
car is no longer made GM does
not carry the parts... Is there truth
to this?

I would buy a late model, low mile car. Parts should not be an issue.

GM will carry parts for about ten years after the make went extinct, that's why you still see so many on the roads. Personally after working on them I would never own one.

Thanks so much!! You just saved me from buyer's remorse!!! Do you have an opinion about the Pontiac Solstice?

Same thing, it’s an extinct car line so again parts will only be there for about ten years after the last one rolled out. American cars will soon be obsolete, everyone is buying SUV’s or pickups. Only cars left will be imports and of those only Honda and Toyota will be worth a darn if they keep the quality control up there. So if your looking for just a car I would look at those two manufactures and if you find one then have it checked by your favorite shop just to make sure your not buying someone else’s problem.

I actually currently have an SUV Chevy equinox 2012 that I've only put 67K miles on. I've had zero problems with it but I know eventually that will not be the case.I'm just looking for a second smaller more gas efficient vehicle to get me around town and take occasional weekend getaways.

Tennis Shoes, in response to your comment about cars becoming obsolete and everyone will soon be buying trucks and SUVs... What will this leave for the singles community population to purchase, if a foreign vehicle is not an affordable option?
