Are there replacement throttle body fuel injectors for a 1994 350 cu. in. to improve gas mileage

Asked by oldhippie1973 Sep 29, 2013 at 02:54 AM about the Chevrolet C/K 1500

Question type: General

I have a 1994 K1500 Z71 4X4 Off Road Silverado.  When I first purchased to truck used I was getting a wonderful 20 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.  I had a tune-up a year later with a hotter coil installed along with 8mm plug wires and copper core spark plugs, now I'm getting @ 15 mpg/18 mpg.  Why such a radical change?  I thought this would help.

15/18mpg is the normal. I have no idea how you saw 20+mpg in the first place

Yah I'm with andrew. My '92 would peak at 14 on it's best day. Try putting the old parts back in? The 5.0 or 4.3 injectors flow less you could try them but that would lean out your motor which may cause other issues down the road. Have you changed the o2 sensors recently I believe the '94 had 2? The spark upgrade may have affected something else?

i do know the factory coil is more than enough spark for these trucks, a hotter coil is pointless. Especially when still running copper plugs
