Check fuses. I know there is one for the computer. But check all of them, I forget what it is but the data port and pcm use to be powered on a cig. lighter circuit.

I just put a new 5.7 in my 1998 z71 and the check engine light is on the code says camshaft position sensor is bad I have already put 2new ones in it and still throws the same code dose any know what mite wrong

I just put a new 5.7 motor in my z71 and the check engine lights on the code says it's the camshaft position sensor is bad I have replaced it twice and rotor and cap it's all new. Dose anyone no why it's throwing that code

You probably need to have the timing set with a professional scanner. It may be the timing correlation between the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor is not right, and the only way to get it back is with a good scanner.
