2013 malibu
2013 malibu wouldn't start and had get jump. Got
everything  (including the alternator) tested  at the
dealer and needed new battery. Still battery drops
as low as 12.5 from 14.7 is there problem or
normal?

This minimum charging voltage is 13.8 volts dc across the battery terminals. If you tested the alternator and it is putting out more than 13.8 then I would test the cables to see if maybe there is something wrong with the cables themselves. Also check for corrosion on the clamps.

yes a good fully charged bat is 13.6 if yours is 14.7 your tester is bad? or your car is over charging and will ruin your bat if you keep over charging it
