How can I open my lexus 1994 es300 door when it will not open from the outside or the inside?

My driver side door would only open from the inside.  I figured that after reading other posts that it had something to do with the linkage or latch behind the panel.  I removed the panel and plastic cover to reveal the mechinisms when a sudden rain storm developed.  In haste, the door was closed with the panel in tact.  Now I am unable to open the door from either side.  The panel is shut between and I can no longer remove it.  Is there another way to open the door to remove the panel and continue the attempt to fix the problem?  I have tried a home made slimjim with no luck.

Hopefully you have AAA, they will open it for you...?
