2005 Pontiac sunfire how do you check timing and if serpentine belt turns does that mean timing chain is ok

Timing depends on the motor. Just because serpentine belt turns does not mean your in time. On a 2.2l ecotec I Believe it goes something like this,... Looking at timeing chain from passenger side, the gear to the left, it's diamond should be about 10 o'clock, gear on the right diamond should be at the 2 o'clock, harmonic balancer line should be at about 5 o'clock,. All this while #1 cylinder is top dead center. ( Fully raised). If I'm off, please anyone correct me.
