water is comimg from behind the water pump there is a leak in the metal pipe that sits behind the pump

my 2004 monterro sport started leaking water i thought it was the pump so i had the pump replace expensive but it wasnt the pump .after mechanic replaced the pump he said i need to check the pipe behind the pumpafter checking there was a small sprout of water comimg fromthe pipe a small pin hole .now water is in the truck under thr glove conpartment

depending on where the water is coming from it could be a failing water pump

thank you tom, very very helpful. you did more with that answer thn most did. yes their is water on my passenger side and yes it is that pipe you stated in the responce and no even thought the mechanic did put on a new water pump .after he finished the job, that is when he said i need to check the lines behind the pump. i am pretty sure he probably knew it was the line but i paid up front. i will try my self .thanks again veryvery helpful mack
