Car chugs at 2000rpm

The car starts and runs and if you take it slow it
will shift and get up to speed but if you give it any
gas and hit 2000 rpm it starts chugging like its
starving for gas. Stays running but chugging

Sounds like the fuel filter but at that age a tune up might not be a bad idea. You need 12 psi. fuel pressure. I hope this helps. Take care.
