1967 Ford Econoline, fire to coil but not to plugs.

Asked by 67Econo Oct 21, 2020 at 10:22 PM about the Ford Econoline Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1967 Econoline. Has set approx. 5 years since my Dad passed away. Getting
fire to the coil but not at the plugs. Going to check points next, but what other
issues could possibly be causing this? We are trying to get it running again. It is
so ugly..it deserves to run :)

Check the points, wire, plugs, cap and rotor. Gap the points and check the timing.

If the coil is sparking check the wire to the distributor and the cap if you just have power on the coil check and see if it sparks if not check to see if the points are working to make it check it by taking the cap off the wire off the coil the big wite to the cap take a screwdriver and open the points watch for the coil to spark check the point to see if burnt or adjustment
