Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I am going to buy a Porsche 718 because I love but
I just wanted to know about the lifespan of the car
before I buy it. How many years it can go with or
without maintenance. If the span is short please
suggest a car with a more lifespan. I will be
gratefull if anyone helps me out

I agree with Tom. If you don't want to invest in maintenance, buy something else. Driving a high performance sports car that gets no maintenance is not a good idea.
My racing team currently races an Aston Martin Vantage, but another team races a 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport (none of these car are street-legal). If you're looking for a Porsche for the street, I'd recommend the Cayman GT4, It's about $130,000. But these tightly- wound sportscars require a LOT of maintenance to keep them running topnotch; as do any of the competitive exotic sportscars. As long as you do maintenance at a better than advised level and drive the car reasonably sensibly, for a car of that type that is, you may expect a lifespan near 100,000 miles before the engine needs a rebuild. Without proper maintenance, the car might last only 20,000 miles. So, your question about lifespan without proper maintenance scares me a bit. As an alternative, I'd suggest you buy an American car; they have always endured poor maintenance, and Corvette has always been a better choice for mechanical slobs. However, cars aren't what they used to be; even modern Vettes need more attention than they ever did before. So you might just want to get your jollies in something more lackluster, like a Camaro or Mustang. After you trash that car, you will have learned.
Might be better to get a really old car fist to learn on
