Hybrid Malibu engine braking

Asked by RudyPage Aug 07, 2017 at 04:42 PM about the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid

Question type: General

I live in a hilly area and frequently downshift when driving downhill to save wear
on my brakes. I am considering a hybrid Malibu and am wondering -- since the
car does not have a conventional transmission -- if there is any way to slow the
car other than by using the brakes.

1 Answer

Hybrids are supposed to use the generator to recover energy when going down hill.
