Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Kindly assist. I have ford bantam 1.6 xlt rocam 2011 model. It used to jerk
while in motion when I accelarated. I was advised to change the coil; spark-
plugs and fuel filter of which I did but there was no improvement. Few days I
go while I was driving, it started to loose power when I accelareted. I had to
stop at the robot, and I had a right of way I tried to accelarate and it had no
power and eventually I stopped. Had to tow it home. Of late the engine can
be turned on, but it goes off completely when I try to press the accelator. I
also checked the fuel relay and the seem to be working. What could be the
problem. Kindly assist.

I had a similar problem with my Bantam. It turned out to be a bad connection in the plug that goes into the mass airflow sensor.

Check for fault codes in the computer box. To clear the fault codes, disconnect the battery cable for a few minutes. Reset the spark plus on this year model to 1.3mm. Check the MAP sensor as well. Check the Oxygen sensor as well.
