Buying a car in VA when living in MD

How does it work if you buy a car in VA but live in
MD? Do you have to have it MD inspected or will
the dealer do that?

My brother had the reverse problem. He lived in VA but bought in mD. The dealer needs to register the vehicle in your state of residence. He is all geared up for those situations
