out of state plates

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am trying to sell my Land Rover through your site - I (and the car) am in Palm Springs CA but my car is plated in Oregon as that is were we live most of the year. In Oregon you keep your plates when you sell a car and in CA the plates go with the car. How should the buyer drive the car home without plates? Is this a problem?

Check with the California DMV to know how they want you to handle it. If your LR is 49 state smog compliant it cannot be registered in the land of fruits and nuts.
