65 Ford Galaxie Fuel Tank

You'll NEVER find one because they aren't reproduced. Ford tanks are reproduced from whatever up to 1964 then 1966 and up but they all skip the 1965 model. I've a 65 and bought a new 66 tank but not installed yet. It'll fit but the issue is a 65 is 20 gal whereas the 66 is 25 gal making it hang 3" lower and you'll have to increase the straps length. I don't know if there's any issue with the metal fill tube fitting. Or if you still have your tank and it's in fair condition, contact http://www.gastankrenu.net and they'll restore it for $250 to $300. I think that's the route I'm gonna take and sell the 66 tank.

The 66 tank is readily available. It will hang down 1 3/4” lower and yes the straps will need longer J bolts, etc but the fill tube fits and the sending unit fits but will always leave you a little extra fuel
