What to do? My transmission stayed in Reverse when I shifted to Park.

When I released the brake it rolled backward.  So I turned off the engine.  This
did not reset the transmission.  It thinks it's still in Reverse and now will not start
when turning the key.

Try putting the shifter in N (Neutral). Make sure you apply the brakes but the engine should start in 'N'. The shift linkage may need to be adjusted.

Oh, and you should use the Emergency Brake while the truck is parked.

Presently, the Shifter's button will slightly depress but will not allow me to engage and then move it to "N" (Neutral). It seems to be locked in place. But I will attempt your advice. Thanks.
