As in "real" you mean the one with the most available horsepower?, that would be the 1971 year model, for the 426 street Hemi was available for the last time. For the last year the roadrunner name was used, I believe it was either '75 or '76, but I'm leaning a little more towards '75

I think that 1970 was the last year that a RoadRunner was not a Satellite, though 1971 is the last year a 426 is listed as available. As far as I know, the Satellite/RoadRunner was last available in 1974 with a 318/360/400 or 440

Are you sure? I thought it was 1977 as it was Aspen / Volare based... 318 or 360 - A-833 4 speed only available on the 318.

The 'fuselage' styled Satellite bodyshell was built from 71-74, many consider the '74 as the final 'real' RR. The '75's were based on the redesignated Fury as a mid-sized model, after that, they were built upon the compact Volare.

1974 was the last year of the original generation and the last year as a true performance car. In 1975 the Road Runner was moved to the Fury platform. This would be the only year that the Road Runner was based on this platform. Then in 1976 the Road Runner was moved to the new Volare platform, which had replaced the popular Valiant. The Road Runner model, separately designated as "RM" VIN, was a separate model from its introduction in 1968, until 1975. All on a B-body platform. The latter 76-80 Volare cars, F-body, were only option packages - NOT a separate model.

1974 was last yr.for any kind of power and that wasn,t much .Last yr of racey style of body.If your talking real as in having all the power and looks it was 1971 I have one you can see in my garage .options for real power 426 hemi last yr of 383 last yr of 440 6 pack called 6 barrel on plymouth everyone just says 6 pack sounds cooler .it was avaible to 1972. 1971 was first yr of small block to RR with a 340 ci. not same power as 68-70 340. only 45 hemi RR produced in 1971.worth over 100,000 dollars today in "1 condition.

plymouth considered 1975 road runners the last to be a distinct model with no other name appearing anywhere on the car and the vin designating it road runner i guess it only matters what they thought.1980 volares were the last plymouths to have the beep beep horn.
