Are my break pads wornout?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My BMW 118i Msport has been squeaky for while,
predominantly why moving at slow speed sort of idling or
light braking, say when getting into a parking spot.
Dealership said my brake pads are 6mm and 5mm. I don't
believe them. Been asking them about this squeaky
sounds and they kept saying it's nothing.

Remove the pad clip and caliper off the rotor, and apply some CRC brake quite on the backside of each brake pad and reinstall.

If I were going to the trouble of removing the pads and sanding them I would replace them instead. If you drive a BMW don't be a penny pincher.
