2005 Ford Explorer

I have a 2005 ford explore ....Sometimes when i
press the gas the car hesitates then jerks, But it
dont do that all the time . Also sometimes when I
stop at a traffic light for a few mins and start to go
my truck shuts off....What could be the problem.

When was the last time the car was given a thorough tune up? If not within 5 years or 20K miles, I would do that first.
