Timing chains can stretch. If this is the case it is time for a new chain, chain guides and tensioner.

Ok Your dealing with one that hasn't any experience with this engine. Is there a place to look or a cover to remove to check if the timing chain is in alignment?

To check the cam timing you would need to remove the cam covers and check to see if the marks are in the correct place. Get a repair manual for your car.
