Stalls out at stop light

Asked by Kitten493 Jan 04, 2020 at 07:14 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Chevy cavalier that stalls out at
stop lights. I’ve already had a complete
tuneup done. I’ve replaced all fuel and air
filters. Replaced thermostat and flushed
radiator and fluid. Also replaced catalytic
converter and gaskets. After all this the issue
still exists! It doesn’t happen all the time!
Please, I’ve already spent $1,500 and need a
solution!

I’ve experienced this on 2 separate occasions and it could be 1 of these 2 things either a faulty throttle position sensor (tps) or the vehicle speed sensor (vss) is going out! Both of these will make the vehicle stall when stopping after driving some distance. I hope this helps keep us posted
