2008 VW Jetta wiring harness

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 VW Jetta. Twice in the last 2 years (11 months apart)  My car would not
start so I had it towed to the dealers repair shop. At first they thought it was the ECM but
Both times it ended up beING Broken wires in the harness. How would these wires break,
and how long should it take to find & diagnosis the problem?Thank you.

They were in the engine. I believe. I was just told their were broken wires in 'the harness'. I imagined it was the engine since it had to do with the car not starting. I did see in my previous web investigating the issue with an older models driver door and the short wiring.
