Limp Mode

Asked by GuruHFTSY Aug 07, 2019 at 12:11 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 2500HD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 07 diesel 4WD w/169k miles is constantly going in to limp mode when
towing a 5th wheel.  Have had -2- fuel filters changed by local dealership in the
last month.  Both times the filter showed 0% within 300 miles of use. Dealership
can't seem to diagnose the problem. It has become a serious safety issue.  Any
suggestions or experience out there with this problem??

Have you read any error codes from the OBDII port with a scanner? That is the first step that I would do to try to identify the problem. Otherwise, the list of problem sources could be extensive. OBDII scanners are cheap now a days too. Mine cost me only $29.00, If you can reproduce the problem, have the scanner connected to the port ready to read error codes. (Hope this is helpful.)
