what is the best method to tender payment from out of state buyer?

Buyer lives out of state. What is the safest means of receiving payment?

A wire transfer through your bank. Talk to your bank rep about what info the buyer would need (basically your name and account number). Watch out for scammers offering to pay extra (for "shipping") via check, then expecting you to forward a payment to the shipper.

Transfer the money into an account you open just for this purpose. When the money clears, transfer the money out and close the account. Talk to your banker before doing any transfer.
