What do I have, a Hardbody d21 or 720?

Asked by Saturn_Nomad Mar 22, 2011 at 11:27 AM about the 1987 Nissan Pickup

Question type: General

I just bought a 1987 Nissan pickup without and owners manual. Can anyone direct me to a source (hopefully free) for a manual? Also, I need to know if it's a Hardbody d21, or a 720Z. I've read in the forum that the 1986.5 was the changeover from 720 to haedbodt d21,true?

Here is a simple cut and dry indicator. Does the truck have 2 headlight or 4 headlights in the front. If you have 4 headlights (2 high beam, 2 low beam) you have a 720 body style. If you have 2 headlights ( Hi/low combo) you have the D21 body style. This is a simple yet sure fire way to identify body style. The changes between them are endless. Hope this will shine a bit of light to your question.....
