My car turned off while I was driving

I change the housing thermostat on a 2007 Dodge Caliber
and I was driving and the car turned off on me and the
lights and the wipers and everything came on and it was
like the car was shutting down as I was driving and it
started driving again on its own what can that be

As I was driving about 45 miles an hour it was like the car sucked in something and it was shutting down all the lights and wipers was flickering and going crazy like the car shut down as I was driving and then everything came back on on its own and the car started driving normal
