I turned the key to start engine to get heat on a 1985 dodge pickup and the truck lunged forward without engine being totally on! Why would this happen?

it was in gear. Apparently your neutral safety switch has been defeated or is not working...you could simply watch it, so you are in neutral every time!...or do this properly and replace your switch with a new one.

its a standared trans,it was in low ,you turned key to on.it was after it sat only a few minutes, does that answer your question? of course not, ill tell you later
